Gasket - Gasket Installation Requirements

1, should clean the gasket and flange sealing surface. There must be no scratches, spots or other defects that may affect the sealing performance.

2. The outer diameter of the seal should be smaller than the outer diameter of the flange sealing surface. The inner diameter of the gasket should be slightly larger than the inner diameter of the pipe. The difference between the two inner diameters is usually 2 times the thickness of the gasket to ensure the gasket after compaction. The inner edge does not extend into the container or pipe so as not to disturb the fluid flow in the container or pipe.

3, the sealing washer pre-tightening force should not exceed the design requirements, so as not to excessively compress the sealing gasket loses its ability to rebound.

4, when the washer is pressed, it is best to use a torque wrench. For large bolts and high-strength bolts, hydraulic tensioners are preferred. Tightening torque should be calculated based on given gasket compression. The hydraulic pressure of the hydraulic tensioner should also be determined by calculation.

5. When installing the washers, tighten the nuts one by one. However, the design value should not be reached once. In general, at least 2 or 3 cycles should be performed to evenly distribute the stress distribution of the gasket.

6, For flammable and explosive medium pressure vessels and pipelines, safety tools should be used when replacing gaskets to prevent them from colliding with flanges or bolts, creating sparks, causing fires or explosions.

7. If there is a leak in the pipeline, it must be replaced or adjusted after the decompression treatment. The pressure operation is strictly prohibited.
